After serving 23 days of 45-day sentence Paris Hilton has been released from prison. She was sentenced after being found guilty of violating her probation from a drink driving arrest in 2006.

  At 12.15 am on Tuesday 26, 2007 she walked out smiling, wearing a sage jacket with white trim over a white shirt and skinny jeans, waved to an enormous gathering of paparazzi but never responded to their questions.
 
 "She fulfilled her debt. She was obviously in good spirits. She thanked people as she left," sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.  

 Her parents, Kathy and Rick, were waiting in a black SUV. Paris hurried to the vehicle, where she hugged her mom through the window. Reporters sprinted after Hilton's vehicle as they left.
She appeared to have gone to a family home in a ritzy Los Angeles canyon north of Sunset Blvd.

 Paris Hilton will complete her probation in March 2009 as long as she doesn't break any laws and keeps her driver's license current. Although she can reduce that time by 12 months if she does community service that could include a public-service announcement, the city attorney's office has said.

 Although confined to a solitary cell in the special needs unit away from the other 2,200 inmates, she spent only three days there and was released, after all Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ordered her returned to jail. "It's not right!" said Paris calling for her mother when leaving the courtroom.  
 Hilton’s stay at Twin Towers jail cost taxpayers $1,109.78 a day which is 10 times more than the cost of general population inmates cost.

 Several TV companies as well as NBC and ABC were fighting for the first interview after releasing from jail but the hotel heiress will give her first live interview to talk show host Larry King, CNN.
